The UN and women's marginalization in peace negotiations

Abstract Although UN Security Council Resolution 1325 calls for increased participation of women in all stages a peace process, the number who participate formal negotiations is still very limited. In order to augment their number, Women and other international organizations have published series policy reports which they argue that women's increases success leads more inclusive agreements. However, based on an analysis relevant interviews with men involved negotiations, I do not lead empowerment. Instead, contribute marginalization because entrap between conflicting expectations. The type behaviour advocates Women, Peace (WPS) agenda expect when limits room manoeuvre—at best. At worst, this prevents from participating it dismissed by domestic (male) negotiators. But if violate behavioural script proposed reports, are considered as acting line WPS agenda. Hence, no matter how behave sit at negotiation table, either lose support or national gatekeepers.
